Vintage DIY: Fall Checklist

Kate and I can't stop dreaming and discussing all the fun things we want do this fall season.  Tomorrow Kate will share some of her favorite fall activities and events, so I decided to also stay on the fall topic as well.  With the start of September, it's the perfect time to start preparing your home for fall, so here is my must-have list to get you started:

#1: Cozy Knits

If you love to adorn your wardrobe with these comfy items, you will love them even more scattered about your home.  I have to change my decor a little bit from summer to fall, to make it feel a little less light and bright, and a little warmer, heavier, and cozier.  A great way to do this is to add some heavier blankets, pillows, curtains, and rugs to your living spaces.  You don't have to change around every room in the house, but just switch out or add some items in the rooms you spend your most time in!

#2: Pumpkins!
Orange is a hard color for most people to fit into their home decor, but thankfully the most popular fall produce comes in a variety of colors!  Try an all-white look with your pumpkins and gourds, and it will match in every room imaginable!  You can either purchase fresh white pumpkins, or buy fake pumpkins and spray paint them so you can reuse them year after year!

#3: Fall Fragrances

Fall candles are my all-time favorite.  Even though I would like to burn them year round, I have to save them for the appropriate time of year so they still feel special.  Burning a candle is the easiest way to make your entire home instantly feel like fall!

 #4: Fall FOOD!
