Summer Beauty Guide

Well it seems like once again we've completely skipped spring here in the bluegrass and gone straight to summer, as far as the weather is concerned.  Consequently, many of us have already jumped into full summer wardrobe, so I was inspired to share some upcoming beauty trends for summer that will punch up your summer look!

The most popular trend for summer nails is by far the white opaque look.  Be sure to do your research before shopping for a white polish, since its very difficult to find a true opaque white polish that isn't translucent or glittery.  Visit this link for a list of the 10 best opaque white polishes: Nail Trend Alert: 10 Best White Nail Polishes

The white opaque trend looks even cuter on your toes and will match everything!

A fresh twist on the white opaque look is the pale teal nail that was very popular on spring runways.

For a more daring look try a bold diagonal manicure!  Pair a super punchy bright color with a more pale neutral like this tan and coral combo above!

Summer is the time to go all-out with your pastel polishes!  I love the look of opaque white mixed with coordinating pastels!

If pastels are a little too girly for your taste, try an unexpected color like navy or olive for summer- both of these colors also look amazing with a matte topcoat!

Everyone loves that tousled "beach hair" look for summer.  This carefree hairstyle will look great with any outfit no matter how casual or dressy.  This year, try adding some braids for summer for a more unique style.
The classic side braid looks perfect with slightly tousled, wavy texture.

A simple knot looks so chic with anything from t-shirts to maxi dresses!

Smaller braids pulled into a half updo have a great bohemian look that will match perfectly with your floral dresses and lacey tops.
For a new twist on the sock bun try it a little lower on the head and then wrap a braid around it.

If all else fails there's always the summer head scarf!  Here are some adorable and unique ways to wear it!

Much like hairstyles, summer makeup is very natural and carefree.  Steer away from looking too "done up;" if you decide to go for a bold lip, leave everything else neutral.  Tinted moisturizers, bronzers, and neutral lipgloss can also give you a natural sunkissed look.
Four great natural makeup looks with neutral pallets.  These looks are all about pale lips, sun-kissed cheeks, and highlighted eyes.

Another great sun-kissed look with plenty of bronzer and a bit of a darker eye for nightime.

A great example of how to do bold colors in summer makeup- everything is clean and natural except for the bright pink lip!

This style also looks fabulous with a bold orange/coral shade lip, one of the hottest lip colors for summer!
