Summer Denim

So far all of my favorite summer looks have one thing in common: denim.  Whether it be distressed boyfriend jeans, pencil skirts, overalls, rompers, or cut-offs, I can't get enough of this laid back summer style.  No matter your style or size, there are a million stylish ways to incorporate denim into your own wardrobe this summer.  Take a look at some of the outfits below to get inspiration for your own summer ensembles!
An adorable little denim overall style jumper paired with a sweet summer eyelet tank and basket purse!  The great thing about these jumpers is that you can often find TONS of them at your local thrift store (think 1990's teacher jumpers), they just might need a little hemming and proper styling to look more modern.

I love the look of this distressed pencil skirt paired with a crisp white button up and minimal accessories.  You can DIY this look by finding a denim skirt at your local thrift store and distressing it yourself (washing it after you cut it up enhances the fraying)!

I can't get enough overalls for this summer, and this rolled up style is so adorable.  If you are brave enough to try them, overalls look super cute with simple long sleeved tops, button up blouses, or tank tops.

A cute way to dress up your casual cut-offs:  add a lightweight summer blazer, simple tee, and sunglasses, and you're good to go!  I showed you how to create your own denim cut-offs in a blogpost last spring that you can find here: Vintage DIY: Who Wears Short Shorts.

Another 90s denim dress look that is transformed to appear completely modern and chic.

Here's an example of how cute short overalls can look with a button-up blouse and flats.  A perfect outfit for browsing a farmer's market or flea market on a summer day!

Who knew long overalls could look so chic?  A plaid button up works great with the classic country style of the long overalls while a tailored blazer adds a touch of preppy to the look.  Roll up the pants and add a classic wedge to complete the outfit!

Overalls look adorable with a simple tank and some statement jewelry.  Casual wedges blend perfectly with this daytime look.

I love this denim on denim look.  Rolled up denim cut-offs paired with a sleeveless denim blouse and tan oxfords make a sweet and sophisticated daytime outfit.

Pair a denim vest and strappy shoes with any girly dress to toughen up the look.  Don't have a denim vest?  Look for a denim jacket or thick denim shirt at your local thrift shop and just cut off the sleeves!
