Summer to Fall: Must Have Pieces

Early fall is just the best time for fashion!  Everyone is excited about the new trends, yet the weather is still warm enough to experiment with mixing seasons.  You get to try out all the latest winter trends without all the uncomfortable, itchy, static-y layers and freezing cold temperatures!  For September fashion try introducing more fall pieces into your existing summer wardrobe!  It's super easy to do this if you have 4 key pieces that you can also use throughout the winter: neutral booties, a fitted blazer, army jacket, and a chambray button-down.

Neutral Booties
The perfect way to add a fall touch to any outfit without the harsh look of winter shoes is to try a chic pair of neutral ankle boots!  These look perfect with just about anything from shorts and skirts, to dresses or pants!

Ankle boots aren't just for minis! They also look so chic with maxi skirts or midis!

Mix fun fall prints and add a pair of oxford style ankle boots for a fun work look!

Fitted Blazer
You will wear a great fitted blazer more than you could ever imagine!  It makes any outfit look instantly pulled together (even slouchy t-shirts and cut-off shorts).  Choose a color that your can wear with a lot of different patterns or colors, for limitless layering options!
Cut-offs get dressed up with oxfords, a boyfriend blazer, and slouchy button-down.

Layer unexpected pieces with your blazer like a buttoned up denim jacket!

Even leather shorts look office-ready with the addition of a beautiful silk blazer!

Rock the crop top into the fall- just layer a blazer over it!

Longer boyfriend style blazers are also super flattering when fitted properly.

Another great blazer and shorts look!

Army Jacket
Another piece with tons of layering options is a classic utilitarian jacket.  These are the perfect weight for fall and come in great neutral colors that will match everything!  Whether you opt for the classic olive, or go for a more bold camo print, check out the photos below for some great outfit ideas incorporating this piece!

Chambray Button-Down
If there's one top that you need for fall it is definitely a chambray button-down!  Once again the layering options are endless for this piece- you can wear it under sweaters, unbuttoned over dresses, or buttoned up under a blazer!

Love the idea of wearing a bright summer dress over a chambray shirt to make it more fall-appropriate!

I don't know what this plaid vest/cape thing is, but I love it.  So many vests look great over chambray shirts- from fur to puffy vests to even more structured vests.

Wear your white blazer into fall by pairing it with denim on denim and a fab statement necklace!

Chambray looks amazing with leather as well- throw on a chunky knit cardigan or poncho and you are good to go!
