{How to Wear}: Leather

Leather has been a hot trend for the past couple of fall/winter fashion seasons and is still going strong this year.  In past years leather skirts were very popular as well as a classic fitted leather jacket, but as the trend becomes more popular, leather is popping up in more and more places!  Today we can find leather on just about anything from dresses to blazers, tops and sweaters, and pants to  accessories!  If you are hesitant about trying this new trend, opt for a touch of leather first before going all out.  Leather panels are a great option- you can find blazers with leather elbow patches or details, skirts with leather panels, or even dresses with a cute leather collar or embellishment.  Below are some ideas for styling leather for chic everyday looks:

Yes, leather can be office appropriate!  It's all about the right cut, and what you pair with it!  Try a sleek leather pencil skirt or a classic leather sheath dress- top it with a fall blazer or classic blouse.  Keep the rest of your outfit and accessories very classic and minimal to keep the look soft and elegant.  You can also try adding some edge to a pretty a-line dress by pairing it with a cropped leather jacket and heels!

Pair leather shorts with slouchy and tailored separates to make them look chic and polished.  Avoid wearing them with anything tight or too revealing to keep the look simple and refined.  They also work great with tights for winter wear!

A classic a-line mini can be worn in so many ways!  The looks above are very minimalist and all about cut and texture, but these skirts would also look amazing paired with bright colors and mixed prints!  The cut is flattering on just about everyone and also super comfortable!

I love the mix of tough and soft in these super cozy and casual looks!  Try dressing down your leather separates for a unique and comfortable everyday style!  Pair a leather skirt with a slouchy knit and sneakers; or try it with an over-sized jacket, giant scarf, and knit hat.

I love the edge that a pair of skinny leather pants give to a classic or preppy outfit!  They also look great with boots and a chunky fur or over-sized knit sweater!  Don't be afraid to dress them up or down!
