Runway to Real Way: Four Looks

So today is officially the last day of New York Fashion Week. This means London, Paris and Milan are next! For non-fashion enthusiasts, you could have gone your whole life without knowing this sliver of information. For fashion enthusiasts, however, we know that now is when trends start and to be ahead of the game is both challenging and exciting. Whether you're as obsessed as I am or could not possibly care less, global fashion weeks affect us all and what we'll find in the stores and online in the next weeks and months.

With all that being said, there's no need to run out and buy new items when you've got unique and special vintage items at your finger tips. Below, I've chosen four looks (two from J.Crew and two from Erin Fetherston) as inspiration and recreated them using vintage pieces.

There's so much more to NYFW than preppy looks, but these looks are more accessible and more easily emulated than the really avant-garde stuff (think Maison Martin Margiela and Yohji Yamamoto). That doesn't take away from its style and design in the slightest, however.

Stay tuned next week for London Fashion Week!
